'TIS A GIFT TO BE SIMPLE' and this can be so true when it comes to decorating for the holidays this year. With Christmas just days away and so many things left to do, it's easy to run out of time for some of those more elaborate decorating ideas we may have thought of earlier. But don't stress, I've got some simple and elegant ideas to make your home look beautiful inside and out in a matter of minutes.
For inside you simply make a tablescape out of an arrangement of any clear glass vessels you may have around the house. Fill them water, a sprig of evergreen, fresh cranberries and a floating candle. You can use glass vases, cylinders, votives, hurricanes, old candle jars, just about any thick clear glass container. Floating candles are best but in a pinch I have actually made the cranberries thick enough to set a votive right in the middle of the berries. You can also place smaller votives around the outside of the glass to light up and reflect the water if the glass is to thin to handle the heat of a candle inside. The texture of a wood table beneath is the perfect complement under these natural elements or you can set it on a reflective mirror to add another dimension to the arrangement. This natural tablescape for your table or buffet looks beautiful day or night and by putting in fresh water daily will last about a week like any fresh floral arrangement.
As far as decorating the outside of your house, 'LESS REALLY CAN BE MORE' and again it doesn't take very long to do. A simple wreath, a couple of natural planters, and a spotlight on your door can be a quick and elegant way too decorate your entryway for the holiday season and beyond this winter. What a natural way to say "WELCOME AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!"
Have A Beautiful Holiday Season!
